Over the years I've participated in every sport possible-- swimming, tennis, basketball, track, volleyball, rock climbing, roller derby--I realized early on that weight training was the best way to keep active in off-season times and help to avoid injuries and improve performance.
I started weight training over 40 years ago and began pursuing professional certification after years of people asking me how I trained and wanting advice--I wanted to make sure that I was giving the most educated answers possible. I am currently certified by the BCRPA in Weight Training, Personal Training and Older Adult Fitness. I continue to attend workshops and courses that help me to stay current with fitness knowledge. I have instructed many classes including core, boot camp, spin, high intensity interval training (HIIT) and more. I have also led a workshop on body weight exercise for BCFIT (pre-covid), taped a number of 30-Minute HIIT programs for TV - Coast Cable (Sunshine Coast) and created a body weight exercise game called Fit in a Flash.
